As the monsoon season continues across the country, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains in many parts of the country in the next two-three days, even as the weather forecast has predicted heavy rains. including floods and landslides.

The IMD has predicted heavy rain in the eastern part of Madhya Pradesh in the next three days. IMD Scientist SN Sahu told ANI, “Due to the turf line coming from Jaipur and Gwalior, there has been a circulation over the Bay of Bengal, rain is expected not over the western parts but over the eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh. Also, the frequency will increase in the coming days. So, there is a possibility of heavy rain in the coming days. It will continue for the next 2-3 days.”

The IMD scientist further said, “With regard to rain, Pachmarhi recorded 27 mm, Rewa 10.2 mm, Bairagarh 5.4 mm and Umaria 30.8 mm. So no low pressure is expected at the moment, but maybe in a few days. IMD scientist also said that at present there is no possibility of flood like situation in Gwalior and Jaipur.

Officials said it is important to note that the water level of most of the overflowing rivers in Odisha fell below the danger level on Tuesday earlier this week, while 6.4 lakh people were stranded in 902 villages of the state.

However, officials in the northern districts of the state are prepared to face heavy rains as predicted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and the rain-hit districts include Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar and Kendrapara in the north.
