IMD has predicted moderate rain, snowfall in these states in the next few days

The Indian Meteorological Department on Monday predicted that a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan region from November 9.

As autumn gives way to chilly winds in the air, leading to a slight drop in temperature, the Meteorological Department has informed that snowfall is likely in many areas of the Himalayan ranges. These areas include: Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal PradeshUttarakhand and Ladakh.

The Meteorological Department has forecast a five-day rainy season in Kashmir ending on November 10.

The weather agency has also warned that a low pressure area is likely to form over southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka coast around November 9. It is very likely to move northwestwards Tamil Nadu-Puducherry Coast With a possible slight intensity during the subsequent 48 hours.

A ‘yellow alert’, meaning that the affected areas should be monitored, remains in place for the northern states of Jammu and Kashmir and the southern states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Moderate rain or snow likely Jammu, Kashmir, LadakhGilgit Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh from today, November 7 and November 9-10.

There is also a possibility of moderate rain or snowfall in Uttarakhand during November 7 and November 9-10.

The higher reaches of Kashmir received fresh snowfall, while the plains received moderate rain in the early hours of Sunday. Drass in the Union Territory of Ladakh also received snowfall.

There is a possibility of light rain or drizzle over North Punjab and North Haryana during 9-10 November and North Rajasthan on 8 November.

Moderate to heavy rain with thunder and lightning likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe and South Andhra Pradesh from November 11.

The weather agency has also predicted very heavy rain in Tamil Nadu-Puducherry-Karaikal on November 11

Moderate to heavy rain has also been predicted in Andaman and Nicobar Islands on 7th and 8th November
