New Delhi:

Last week, a property dealer and his friend were injured when three masked shooters opened fire in an alleged extortion attempt in Delhi.

The attack by shooters of the Naresh Shetty gang in South West Delhi’s Dichaon Kalan area was caught on security cameras.

The shooters who arrived on the bike took a U-turn on seeing their victim and fired at him. Vikas Dahiya and his friend Devi Veer Singh, who were going to office, were injured in the attack.

Two of the shooters – Sameer and a minor – have been arrested, while the search is on for their third accomplice, Bunty.

Naresh Shetty, who is currently in jail, is a close associate of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is also the prime suspect in the murder of Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moose Wala. Bishnoi had also engaged Shetty years ago for a planned attack on actor Salman Khan, but it was later called off.

Mr Dahiya received an extortion call on April 17 from Akshay, a shooter in the Shetty gang. Ten days later, Devi Veer Singh, a Sonepat-based property dealer and his friend, was attacked.

A case of attempt to murder has been registered at Narela police station.

Bishnoi had planned to attack Salman Khan when he was shooting for his film Ready, but called it off. Later, he assigns Shetty to attack Mr. Khan. Shetty, who hails from Jhajjar in Haryana, also spent a month in Mumbai in 2020 to do a recce of the actor’s house, but could not complete his plan.
