In heartwarming old video, elephants team up to save drowning calf

Parents are the biggest protectors of their children and will do whatever it takes to protect them. Such strong protective instincts and feelings are also prevalent in animals. One such video is again going viral on social media in which elephants are shown trying to save their calf who is drowning in a pool of water.

In the video, the baby elephant and its mother are drinking water from the pool when suddenly the calf falls into the water. The female elephant gets scared and tries to get him out of the water. Thankfully, another elephant arrives at the scene to assist the mother and calf. Behind the fence, a third elephant was also seen running rampant as it tried to reach the other two elephants to help rescue the young elephant.

Meanwhile, the baby elephant was struggling to keep its trunk above the water and looked like it was drowning. Soon, two adult elephants team up and enter the pool. They hold the calf so that it does not drown, and help it towards the shallow end of the pool. His hard work paid off and the calf was saved.

Since being shared, the video has garnered over 5 lakh views, 4,438 retweets and over 34,000 likes. Internet users were moved by the video and praised the quick thinking and selflessness of the elephants, which saved the life of the calf.
