Ranchi: The Election Commission (EC) on Tuesday gave the third and final extension of service to Chief Minister Hemant. soren To appear in case of office of profit.
A JMM spokesperson said, “The Chief Minister had on Monday filed a petition seeking more time to appear before the Election Commission in the matter, stating that his legal representative was unwell. Election Commission sources said an ultimatum was given to Soren, while an additional two weeks’ time was given. “The EC said it was the last extension given to him. Soren was given notice by the Election Commission on May 2 based on the complaint of February 11. Godda MP of BJP Nishikant Dubey Criticized Soren for demanding a further extension. “The CM has sought another extension saying that his lawyer has been infected with COVID-19. Is there no other competent lawyer to represent him in the country?”
The JMM declined to comment on Dubey’s statement.
