Minister inaugurates advanced equipment, 4D ECHO and Intravascular Ultrasound equipment in the Department of Urology

Health Minister I. Subramaniam on Saturday inaugurated new facilities at the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital.

Hormone analyzer has been installed at the master health checkup center of the hospital at a cost of Rs 25 lakh.

The Minister also inaugurated advanced equipments in Urology Department at a cost of Rs 4.5 crore, 4D ECHO of Rs 76 lakh and Intravascular Ultrasound at the hospital costing Rs 51 lakh. According to a press release, three waiting shelters set up at a cost of ₹13.15 lakh were inaugurated.

RGGGH Dean E. Theranirajan said the minister handed over five first aid kits to the doctors and nurses of the emergency medicine department to take care of the persons injured in any road accident. Each kit costs around ₹5,000.

“They can keep the kit in their four wheelers. The kit includes cervical collar, bandage/gauge pads/micropore plaster, oropharyngeal airway, ambu with mask, pulse oximeter, tourniquet, stethoscope, gloves and IV set. He said it was an effort taken as part of World Trauma Day.

Director of Medical Education R. Narayan Babu was present.
