How to file ITR-1 form completely in digital mode

For ITR e-filing through 100% digital mode, one needs to login to the official income tax website – incometax.gov.in, login with one’s credentials using PAN/Aadhaar number as their User ID and follow the step by step given below. guide:

1]Log on to the official Income Tax website – incometax.gov.in;

2]Go to e-File and select Income Tax Return;

3]Select ‘File Income Tax Return’ from the menu;

4]Select the financial year 2021-22;

5]Select ‘Online’ on the mode of filing option;

6]’Individual’ in the application status and select ITR-1 Form on the landing page;

7]Click on ‘Let’s get started’;

8]Select the applicable reason for filing ITR and click on ‘Continue’ option;

9]Validate 5 tabs — Personal Information, Gross Total Income, Total Deduction, Tax Paid and Total Tax Liability — under the option ‘Let’s validate your pre-filled return’;

10]Go to the Return Summary option and check if all the 5 tabs are showing Confirm in this option. After checking the 5 tabs after verification, click on ‘Proceed’ on the Tax Summary tab;

11]In the Tax Summary tab, one can view his/her Tax Summary (Nil, Payable and Refund);

12]Then go to the declaration tab and fill the required details and click on ‘Preview Return’ option;

13]After making sure that the details filled are accurate and correct, then one has to click on the option ‘Proceed to Validation’. If there is some error, the information can be corrected by selecting the ‘Edit’ option; And

14]After successful verification of one’s ITR, one needs to verify one’s tax return. This can be done online through Aadhaar OTP, Net Banking etc., or the taxpayer can take a print out of his ITR-V, sing it and send it to CPC, Income Tax Department, Bengaluru within 120 days of ITR E by post. can be sent through filing.
