India vs Australia: The Indian cricket team released the left-arm fast bowler on Sunday. Jaydev Unadkat from his squad for the second Test against Australia. The Indian team won the first Test by defeating Australia by an innings and 132 runs and will take on Australia in Delhi for the second Test on February 17. Meanwhile, Saurashtra captain Unadkat has been released to play in the Ranji Trophy final.

The Indian board issued a statement confirming Unadkat’s absence in the second Test. “The All-India Senior Selection Committee, in consultation with the Indian team management, has decided to release Jaydev Unadkat from the Indian squad for the second Test of India’s MasterCard tour of Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy,” the Indian board wrote.

The board also said that the left-arm fast bowler will play the final for Saurashtra. “Jaidev will now join the Saurashtra squad that has qualified for the Mastercard Ranji Trophy final against Bengal to be played at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata from February 16,” the BCCI said. Unadkat was not a part of the team in the opening match as India picked two fast bowlers – Siraj and Shami.

Jaydev Unadkat’s Saurashtra defeated Karnataka in the second semi-final of Ranji Trophy 2022/23 season. They won the match by 4 wickets to book a final meeting with Bengal. The final will be played from February 16.
