IND vs ENG: We have checked all the boxes – Coach Dravid on India’s preparation for fifth and final Test

India played a four-day warm-up match against Leicestershire before playing the final Test against England from 1 July. The fifth match of the five-match Test series was rescheduled due to Kovid-19. India are leading 2-1 in the series.

Head coach Rahul Dravid said India ticked all the necessary boxes against Leicestershire and would like to take the field to face England in the rescheduled one-off Test starting Friday.

Shreyas Iyer, Virat Kohli, Shubman GillRishabh Pant, and Ravindra JadejaAll scored half-centuries during the drawn practice match.

Dravid said, “I think we have got whatever we need to achieve and whatever box we need in terms of our preparation before the Test match on Friday, I think we are very satisfied and happy, we are looking forward to this week. able to do so.” In a video shared by Leicestershire Fox.

Talking about the challenges of playing in English conditions, Dravid said: “When you have just one game or one game in a series, there is really not a lot of time, you have to work hard on the field. And you should hopefully be able to put your acting skills together from day one of the Test match.

“There isn’t a lot of room to maneuver or go wrong. So having said that it’s been a good week. I thought the wicket of the match was challenging in the first few days and settled in the last two, so that was good. Had a good week.”

Dravid also praised the facilities and atmosphere in Leicestershire.

He said, “I thought you know everyone takes care of us really well. It’s a great crowd you know, it’s really great that so many people come to watch games like this.” And just the ambiance and the atmosphere has been excellent.”
