Ishan Kishan had a tough time against West Indies especially in the last two matches in Kolkata where the ball started doing its job. But as soon as he reached Lucknow, the swing evaporated and the batsman took full advantage by scoring 89 runs. Although he looked iffy at first, he soon found his rhythm against Chamika Karunaratne, whom he slammed for three back-to-back boundaries. He later admitted that he learned a lot from the previous series after being awarded the man of the match.

He said, ‘I got to learn a lot from the West Indies series. I didn’t have good intentions, I wasn’t positive enough. I was trying to keep it simple here – watch the ball and play your shots. Pull is my favorite shot, I enjoy playing that shot. It is also a positive thing for the batting unit as you need to fill the gaps to prepare for the World Cup in Australia.
