Washington: The Biden administration said on Thursday that India is a global strategic partner of America. “Our messaging for and about India is consistent. India is a global strategic partner of the United States. We want to build on the engagement we have with our Indian partners at the ministerial level, at the leaders level, at all levels. State Department spokesman Ned Price told reporters at a press conference here, further deepening the already extensive relationship between our two countries.
“These are relations that are political, diplomatic, economic, security in nature and, importantly, people-to-people relations,” he said.
The country has a vibrant Indian diaspora, he said, adding that there is considerable interest from the US private sector in India, exchange students.
“In many ways our two societies are intertwined. So every time we have the opportunity to meet with our Indian counterparts, it is an effort to deepen what is already a very broad global strategic partnership,” Price said. “
