India beat Pakistan in T20 World Cup match: Here’s how Twitter reacted

Millions of Indian cricket fans took an emotional ride on Sunday as India beat Pakistan in their opening match of the ICC Cricket T20 World Cup 2022. India’s impressive four-wicket win and a stunning innings from Virat Kohli will certainly help India overcome the nightmare. Pakistan had handed India to Dubai in the same tournament last year, when India suffered a 10-wicket loss.

Like every India-Pakistan match, this match too was very tough and lasted till the last ball, with Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya responsibly leading the country to a massive victory against Pakistan.

Social media was flooded with celebrations with cricket stalwarts and other famous personalities congratulating India on the stupendous victory. No one forgets to make a special mention of the exemplary performance of Virat Kohli, who remained unbeaten on 82 off 53 balls.

The God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar congratulated Team India, making special mention of the partnership between Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya. “A sports thriller that sets up India’s #T20WC campaign beautifully! Significant contribution by many individuals, but special mention of Hardik’s partnership with Virat which was very important for #TeamIndia,” he tweeted.

Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Jay Shah also congratulated the team on the victory and praised the skills of the players.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed happiness over a good start in this year’s World Cup. “A perfect way to start T20 World Cup… Diwali starts 🙂 What a great innings by @imVkohli. Congratulations to the whole team. #ICCT20WorldCup2022.”

Former India opener Virender Sehwag also took to Twitter to congratulate the team and also claimed that it was one of Virat Kohli’s best innings. “Yayya… Happy Diwali what a wonderful game. Full of emotion, but this is probably the best T20 innings ever, salute Virat Kohli. Chak De India,” he tweeted.

Not just India, Pakistani players also congratulated India and former Pakistani captain Shahid Afridi expressed how Virat Kohli snatched the match out of Pakistan’s hands. “Nerves game today but we had it up to 95% and then @imVkohli showed what a world class match winning innings looks like. Both teams played well, great match! #PakVsInd,” he tweeted.
