India blocks 14 mobile messenger apps over security concerns

The central government has blocked 14 mobile messenger apps over security concerns. It has been told that terrorists used these mobile messenger apps to spread messages and receive messages from Pakistan, reported news agency ANI.

Blocked mobile messenger apps The names of the apps are not listed. However, a source told News18 that Crypviser, Enigma, Safeswiss, Wickrme, Mediafire, Briar, BChat, Nandbox, Conion, IMO, Element, Second line, Zangi, Therema, among others, have been blocked by the Centre.

Top sources told the daily that it was found that these apps were being used by terrorists in Kashmir to communicate with their supporters and on-ground workers (OGWs).
