India brings back around 18,000 citizens from Ukraine so far

The Ministry of Civil Aviation on Tuesday informed that 410 Indians have been airlifted today by two special civil flights from the Romanian city of Suceva as part of ‘Operation Ganga’ to evacuate Indian nationals from neighboring countries of Ukraine.

Along with this, about 18,000 Indians have been brought back through special flights that started from 22 February. The number of Indians airlifted by 75 special civilian flights rises to 15521.

The ministry said the Indian Air Force had flown 12 missions to bring back 2467 passengers as part of Operation Ganga and carried over 32 tonnes of relief material.

Of the civilian flights, 4575 passengers were carried by 21 flights from Bucharest, 1820 by 9 flights from Suev, 5571 by 28 flights from Budapest, 909 passengers by 5 flights from Koसिसice, 2404 Indians by 11 flights from Rezzo, and 242 persons. brought by. A flight from Kyiv.
