India facing inflation as BJP is using all money to buy MLAs: Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi AAP National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal accused the Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of trying to topple the AAP government in the national capital. On Friday, 26 August, the Delhi CM said that ‘vested interests are now trying to topple the Delhi government’ while the BJP took power after usurping the ruling government in several states.

“They have brought down several governments in the country so far – Goa, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Assam, MP, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Meghalaya. There is a serial killer in the city who is committing murders one after the other. People choose a government, they topple it,” Kejriwal said in his Delhi Assembly speech on Friday, attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Kejriwal also accused the BJP of poaching MLAs with the money collected through GST and hike in petrol, diesel prices. The prices of diesel and petrol saw a significant increase in the last few months, in which it became more than 100 per litre. There has been no change in the fuel prices across the country for the last 96 days.

Putting further emphasis on horse-trading of MLAs, Kejriwal said, “We have calculated that 277 MLAs have come to his party (BJP), now if they did. 20 crore to every MLA so they have got MLAs 5,500 crore. So there is inflation because they are using all the money to buy MLAs at the cost of common man.”

Kejriwal accused the BJP of conducting “false raids” on his ministers. Speaking on the recent raids conducted by CBI at the Delhi residence of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia with regard to Delhi Excise policy, CM Kejriwal said, “The raids continued for 14 hours but not a single penny was found. No jewellery, no cash found, no land or property documents found and no objectionable documents found – nothing found. It was a false raid.”

Addressing the Delhi Assembly in a special session, Kejriwal said that the BJP has so far bought 277 MLAs across the country. “It is being said that he broke several MLAs. I got calls, people asked me if everything was fine. I want to move a confidence motion in the house to show the people that not a single one went, that BJP’s Operation Lotus became “Operation Mudde” here, said Delhi CM.

He further alleged that Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has now “started investigation in our schools. He wants to stop the good work being done in schools and hospitals”.
