India fourth highest defense spender last year: Report

India was the fourth largest spender on defense in the world last year. India spent six percent more amount in the year 2022 than in the year 2021. This information has been given by the German think tank ‘Stockholm International Peace Research Institute’ (SIPRI) in its report.

According to the Military Expenditure Report, India spent around 23 per cent of the total defense budget on equipment and infrastructure development, which includes expenditure on the border with China where tensions are running with the neighboring country.
