The commerce ministry on Monday said that after a gap of one year, the India International Trade Fair (IITF) will be held from November 14 to 27 at Pragati Maidan in the national capital with the theme ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’.

India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) organizes this mega event, which was first organized in 1979.

The fair was not organized last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This was the second time in the history that IITF was not organized. This happened for the first time in 1980.

The 14-day event will be organized in the newly constructed hall of International Exhibition-cum-Convention Center (IECC) as well as the existing hall at Pragati Maidan, the ministry said.

The theme of this year’s India International Trade Fair is ‘Self-reliant India’

“The fair will be organized in accordance with the preventive measures to contain the spread of the pandemic. It will reveal its theme ‘Self-reliant India’ with focus on economy, export potential, infrastructure supply chain, demand and vibrant demographics.”

Elaborate arrangements are being made to make the fair convenient for the participants and visitors.

These include wheelchairs for persons with disabilities, and sale of entry tickets at select metro stations, banks, ATMs and food outlets.

Free admission for senior citizens, specially abled on all days

There will be free entry for Senior Citizens/Specially Handicapped Persons on all days from any gate on production of a valid Government Identity Card stating the date of birth. However, the persons accompanying them will have to buy entry tickets, it said.

November 14-18 will be exclusively reserved for the business-to-business segment, after which it will be opened to the general public. Timings will be from 9.30 am to 7.30 pm.
