India is a leader in digital skill readiness with 72% actively learning new skills

BENGALURU: According to Salesforce’s latest Global Digital Skills Index, 72% of survey respondents said they were very actively learning digital skills to prepare themselves for the future of work, India is a leader in digital skills preparation .

Around 66% of the respondents in India said that they feel equipped to learn digital skills. The index is based on a survey of more than 23,500 workers in 19 countries, with an average global readiness score of 33 out of 100.

Globally, skills in collaboration technology such as Slack are seen as the most important need by businesses, with only 25% of respondents having “advanced” collaboration technology skills specifically needed for the workplace.

Digital marketing is ranked as the top workplace skill in India, with only 39% of respondents rating their workplace digital marketing skill level as “advanced”.

Globally, 51% of the respondents and in India, 54% of the respondents want to learn new skills to help them advance their careers. By harnessing the potential of the existing workforce, businesses can accelerate progress toward closing their skills gap.

The index also shows that globally, younger respondents have greater confidence and ambition to learn new skills – more than a third of Gen Zs are “very actively” learning and training for the skills they need over the next five years. are giving. However, in India, Baby Boomers with 83% of respondents are “actively” learning and training for the skills that are needed right now.

According to IDC, the Salesforce economy in India will create 1.3 million jobs and $66.4 billion in new business revenue by 2026. Salesforce said it is accelerating growth for its partner ecosystem in India, which will make $6.55 for every $1 Salesforce makes locally by 2026.
