New Delhi: India are trying to “avoid” playing Belarus In a friendly football match on 26 March after embroiled in the country Russiasupported Ukraine.
India was to take on Bahrain on 23 March and efforts are on to replace Belarus with another country, and in some cases, Belarus, for the 26 March game in Manama amid Russia’s global sports boycott. International Olympic Committeeof call.

“Since there are not many days left, it can be difficult and we are also trying to get Bahrain one after the other. There is some confusion.
“Since then fifa Belarus has not suspended, there is no automatic cancellation of Friendly. If Belarus is banned by FIFA we can’t play them. But as of now the match against Belarus is going on.”
FIFA has suspended Russia but has yet to announce any such measures for Belarus.
Games against Bahrain and Belarus are a part of India’s preparation Asian Cup Final round qualifiers in Kolkata in June.
