Also, it will increase energy efficiency, spectrum efficiency and network efficiency. 5G technology will help connect billions of Internet of Things devices, allow high-quality video services with mobility at high speeds, and provide vital services such as telesurgery and autonomous cars, among others.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited or BSNL will launch its 5G service by August next year, IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav told this week on the sidelines of India Mobile Congress 2022. “BSNL will provide 5G services from August 15 next year,” he was quoted in several reports.

He mentioned that there will be three private and one public telecom players in the 5G sector in India, and also added that the 5G plans will remain affordable for the customers. He also talked about bringing 5G services to 200 cities in the next 6 months and covering 90 percent of the country with 5G in the next two years.

Airtel launched its 5G service in some parts of India only a few days back, and the telco has claimed that it will cover the whole of India with its 5G network by 2024. Jio is planning to cover most of the country with its 5G service by December. this year. Vodafone Idea is also planning its 5G launch, but has not given any definite timeline for its availability to the consumers.
