India needs stronger regulations to remain leader in generic drugs: WHO expert

World Health Organization (WHO) Chief Scientist Dr Soumya Swaminathan has said that India needs a strong regulatory system to maintain its position as a global leader in the production of vaccines and generic drugs.

Speaking to ANI, Soumya Swaminathan said, “I think it is going to be very important for the reputation and ultimately for India to remain as a leader in the field of generic medicine and vaccines beyond doubt.” To prove that we have a very strong regulatory system in place.”
