India in itself 75th year of independence Union Minister Piyush Goyal said on Wednesday that it is now home to 75,000 startups.

In a tweet, the commerce and industry minister said, “These numbers speak to the power of a vision. A vision to see innovation and enterprise drive growth.”

“India is now home to 75,000 startups in its 75th year of independence and this is only the beginning,” Mr Goyal said in a tweet.

The minister had recently said that the country aspires to be the world’s largest startup ecosystem.

On another occasion, Mr. Goyal had appealed to startups to join and get listed in India and not to leave the country for “just a few dollars more”.
