India records 5,221 new coronavirus infections overall COVID-19 tally of cases According to the data updated by the Union Health Ministry on Monday, 4,45,00,580, while the active cases came down to 47,176.

The death toll rose to 5,28,165 with 15 fatalities, including four deaths reconciled by Kerala, data updated at 8 am.

The ministry said that active cases comprise 0.11% of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has risen to 98.71%.

The active COVID-19 caseload has registered a decline of 769 cases in a 24-hour period.

India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed 20 lakh on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16. It had crossed 60 lakh on 28 September, 70 lakh on 11 October. 80 lakh on 29 October, 90 lakh on 20 November and crossed the one crore mark on 19 December.

The country crossed the grim milestone of 20 million on May 4 and 30 million on June 23 last year. It had crossed the four crore mark on January 25 this year.
