COVID-19 Cases in India: 226 new cases of novel coronavirus were reported in India in the last 24 hours. As per the data shared by the Union Health Ministry today (December 31), the total recovery rate has touched almost 98.80 per cent and the total recoveries data has reached 4,41,44,029.
The total number of active cases of COVID-19 in India has risen to 3,653, Health Ministry data showed on Saturday. Yesterday, the active cases registered were around 3,609.
Active Case:
A total increase of 44 cases has been registered in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. The ministry said that active cases comprise 0.01 per cent of the total infections.
The total death toll in the country has now reached 5,30,702. In India, the first death due to the COVID pandemic occurred in March 2020.
COVID Vaccination Update:
According to the Health Ministry website, 220.10 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered so far in the country under the nationwide vaccination drive.
India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20 lakh mark on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, 50 lakh on September 16, 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20 and one crore on December 19, 2020.
The country crossed the grim milestone of two crore cases on May 4, 2021, three crore on June 23, 2021 and four crore cases on January 25 this year.
