India Says G20 Members See Need For Global Crypto Regulations

washington : Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Thursday that there was a broad acceptance among the Group of 20 member states that any new regulations on crypto assets need to be coordinated globally, and added that crypto assets backed by central banks would fall and lead to macroeconomic instability.

“The G20 and its members agree that it is not possible to have an independent, standalone country dealing with crypto assets,” Sitharaman said at a press conference after a meeting of G20 finance ministers and central bank governors.
