India sees slight decline in daily Covid-19 tally with 10,093 new cases

India has today registered a marginal decline in daily COVID-19 cases. According to the data updated on Sunday by the Union Health Ministry, the country recorded 10,093 fresh coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours.

On Saturday, India detected 10,753 new Covid-19 cases, while on Friday the country saw 11,109 infections.

With the new Covid-19 cases, India’s active caseload has gone up to 57,542.

Maharashtra recorded a marginal decline in daily Covid-19 cases on Saturday as the state reported 660 new coronavirus infections and two deaths, according to a bulletin issued by the health department. A day earlier, 1,152 new cases and four deaths were recorded in the state.

The national capital also reported 1,386 covid-19 case on Saturday. While on Friday, Delhi reported 1,527 Covid-19 cases and two deaths, the health department said in a bulletin.

After witnessing a spike in daily COVID-19 cases, a health expert has advised people to wear masks in crowded places and follow COVID-appropriate behaviour.

Dr. Sandeep Nair, HOD, BLK Hospital, Pulmonologist, said, “Amidst the rise in Covid-19 cases, it is of paramount importance that people start wearing masks. Mask should be worn while going to any crowded place. Use double layer mask in places like hospitals, as it is very effective in preventing infection.

The health expert said, “Corona cases are increasing, patients with symptoms of sore throat, cough, cold and fever are coming to us.” “We are advising patients with such symptoms to remain in strict home isolation for seven days,” he added.

“Very few patients require hospitalisation. Only patients suffering from some serious illness require hospitalisation. Patients suffering from cancer or other serious diseases are thus at greater risk and their The scale requires caring,” Dr. Nayyar added.
