India sees slight drop in daily Covid-19 cases, 1,675 new cases reported in 24 hours

India registered 1,675 new cases on Tuesday, registering a slight decline in the number of Covid-19 cases, according to updated data from the Union Health Ministry. Meanwhile, in a related development, Maharashtra health minister Rajesh Tope said on Monday that there is no possibility of a fourth wave of Kovid-19 given the current situation. Talking to reporters here, Tope said that about 200 to 250 cases are being reported daily in the state and their number has not increased much.

“The COVID-19 The recovery rate is very good and the vaccination results in Maharashtra have been very good. So, I feel that in the present situation, there is no chance of a fourth wave (of viral infection),” the minister said.

On Sunday, Maharashtra reported 326 Covid-19 cases, taking the state’s tally to 78,82,802, while the death toll stood at 1,47,856 as no fresh death was recorded.

According to the state health department, 251 patients were discharged on Sunday, taking the state to 1,903 active Covid-19 cases.

When asked whether a booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine is mandatory for everyone, Tope said there is no compulsion, but health and frontline workers, essential service workers and senior citizens should be given boosters as per the guidelines of the central government. Shots being given.

“However, we have not mandated booster dose for everyone as there are no such guidelines from the central government,” he said.
