India Slams Group Of Islamic Nations Over Yasin Malik’s Comment: “Don’t Justify”

The NIA court on Wednesday sentenced Yasin Malik to life imprisonment in the terror funding case.

India on Friday slammed the OIC-IPHRC for criticizing the verdict in the terror funding case involving Yasin Malik and said the organization has expressed support for terrorist activities.

India urged the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) not to justify terrorism in any way, saying that the world wants zero tolerance against this menace.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi said that Malik’s terrorist activities have been documented and presented in the court.

Responding to media queries on comments made by OIC-IPHRC on the NIA Court’s decision in respect of Yasin Malik, Mr Bagchi said that India finds the comments unacceptable.

“India today finds unacceptable the comments made by the OIC-IPHRC criticizing India for the verdict in Yasin Malik’s case. Through these comments, the OIC-IPHRC has expressed support for Yasin Malik’s terrorist activities , which was documented and submitted to the Court. The world demands zero tolerance towards terrorism and we urge the OIC not to justify it in any way,” Mr. Bagchi said.

A National Investigation Agency (NIA) court on Wednesday sentenced a Jammu and Kashmir terrorist Yasin Malik to life imprisonment in a terror funding case.

The NIA court, while awarding life imprisonment to Malik, also imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh.

He was sentenced to life imprisonment twice. The NIA had on May 19 sought death penalty for the convicted terrorist leader.

Malik told the court that he was not contesting the charges against him.
