The Congress may emerge as the single largest party in Punjab, but may fall short of a majority in this key border state, while the Congress-Goa Forward Party alliance may get a majority in Goa. In Punjab, the Congress may win 50-52 seats in the House of 117, while the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are vying for the second spot. Shiromani Akali Dal is projected to get 30-32 seats, while AAP may get 29-31 seats. The BJP and its allies may win only one to three seats, while the ‘others’ may win one to three seats. When asked who would be the best candidate for Chief Minister, Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi was leading with 37 per cent votes, while AAP chief ministerial candidate Bhagwant Mann was leading with 27 per cent. SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal is third with 15 per cent and PCC chief Navjot Sidhu is trailing with nine per cent.

In Goa, the Congress-Goa Forward Party alliance is projected to get a majority and may win 17 to 21 seats in the 40-seat house. The ruling BJP is projected to win 14 to 18 seats. While the Trinamool Congress and its MGP ally may win two to four seats. The Aam Aadmi Party is projected to win from zero to two seats, while the ‘Others’ may get one. In the category of best chief ministerial candidate, Goa CM Pramod Sawant is leading with 27 per cent, while Congress leader Digambar Kamat has got 17 per cent and BJP minister Vishwajit Pratap Singh Rane has got 12 per cent. Goa Forward Party leader Vijay Sardesai got 8 per cent support from the voters.

In the hill state of Uttarakhand, the ruling BJP and Congress are in a one-on-one battle and both are projected to win 33-35 seats in the 70-seat house. You can get one seat and ‘others’ can get two seats. Here is the estimated vote share percentage:

Congress leader Harish Rawat is leading the race for the chief minister’s post with 44 per cent voter support, while Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has got 42 per cent votes. BJP leader Anil Baluni is in third place with 3 per cent support.

In the northeastern border state of Manipur, the BJP may stop getting a majority and is projected to win 26 to 30 seats in a House of 60. Congress may come second and win 22 to 26 seats, NPF is projected to win 3-7 seats. 1-3 seats to the NPP, and minus two seats to the ‘others’. Here is the estimated vote share percentage:

Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh is leading the race for the chief minister’s post with 37 per cent support, while Congress leader Okram Ibobi Singh is trailing with 34 per cent support.
