In the two-match Test series between India and Bangladesh, the bowling coach of the hosts… allen donald has issued an apology to Rahul Dravid For sledging an Indian batsman during a tri-nation series match in 1997. The incident took place during an ODI match in Durban. “As I speak there was an ugly incident in Durban. Dravid and Sachin were smoking us from all sides. I overstepped the mark a bit. I have nothing but huge respect for Rahul Dravid. I Rahul Would love to sit with.” And going out to dinner and saying sorry again to her about what happened that day.
“But I still apologize for what I said that day. What a nice guy, what a nice person. So, Rahul, if you’re listening, I’d love to have a night out with you.”
Dravid, on the other hand, was all praise for the former pacer, adding that he would prefer to pick his brains.
“He was a great bowler. He is probably one of the best bowlers I have ever played against in my career. I must admit when I see him now and meet him on the field ‘seeing you like this without the ball in your hand’ It’s very good.” And topped off with sunscreen on the face.’ He was an intimidating fast bowler and was brilliant. I would love to work with him and chat about fast bowling.
“We also have a lot of young players and it would be nice to pick their brains. Just to have the privilege of sharing the field with them is phenomenal.”
