India vs Sri Lanka: Sanju Samson ruled out of T20I series due to knee injury. cricket news

Indian cricket team’s wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson has been ruled out of the remaining matches of the 3-match T20 series against Sri Lanka. During the first T20 International at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Samson had injured his left knee while trying to bowl near the boundary ropes. “He was taken to Mumbai by the BCCI medical team this afternoon for scans and expert opinion and has been advised rest and rehabilitation,” read a statement issued by the BCCI.

“The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Jitesh Sharma as the replacement for Sanju Samson.”

Due to Samson’s injury, Rahul Tripathi may get a chance to make his debut. Tripathi, who has been a consistent performer in the IPL, has traveled with the team for a while but is yet to get a game. India lead 1-0 in the three-match series after winning the first match by two runs.
