Indian Army has invited applications for the Short Service Commission Course in the Department of Judge Advocate General (JAG). The requirement of a total of nine candidates- six male and three female has been announced in the released official notification. The registration for this has started from 19th January at joinindianarmy.nic.in and will continue till 3pm on 17th February.
As per the official notification, the total tenure of service will be of a total of 14 years, with an initial period of 10 years which can be extended up to four years. The total period also includes a probation period of six months. Before the commencement of the tenure, the selected candidates will undergo a training period of six months at Officers Training Academy in Chennai.

Indian Army Recruitment 2022: Qualification
Educational qualification: Applicant should have LLB degree with minimum 55% marks. Further, the degree must be professional, amounting to three years, if taken after graduation, or five years, if taken after class 12 and from a college/university recognized by the Bar Council of India. In addition, candidates must be eligible for registration as an advocate in the Bar Council of India or State.
Age Range: Candidates age should be between 21 to 27 years as on July 1, 2022. In other words, the applicant should be born not earlier than 2nd July 1995 and not later than 1st July 2001.

Indian Army Recruitment 2022: Selection Process
Candidates will be informed through email when they are shortlisted by the Ministry of Defence. Selected candidates will have to undergo a Service Selection Board (SSB) examination at the selection centers allotted by the Indian Army. There will be a total of two selection stages. This will be followed by five days allotted for the SSB interview. After the interview, the candidates will have to undergo a medical examination as the last step.
Indian Army Recruitment 2022: Salary
Those selected for the posts of lieutenant will get a salary between Rs 56,100 – 1,77,500, captain Rs 61,300 – 1,93,900, major between Rs 69,400 to 2,07,200, while lieutenant colonel will get a salary between Rs 1. 21,200 – 2,12,400. Those selected for the posts of Colonel will get between Rs 1,30,600 – 2,15,900, Brigadier Rs 1,39,600 – 2,17,600 and Major Brigadier Rs 1,44,200 – 2,18,200.
