Navy Fake Recruitment: A case of fake recruitment in the Master Minded Naval Police by a person claiming to be Captain Sameer Singh of the Indian Navy came to light recently.

Indian Navy PRO said that the man allegedly offered fake employment as security guards in the Indian Navy to young candidates.

The PRO said that the preliminary investigation conducted by the Naval Police revealed that the person operating from Ambernath (East) used a fake Defense Ministry letter, in which INS Kunjali, located at Colaba, Mumbai, was used as a recruitment and work place. was shown in.

He used his location for money, uniform and other necessary paperwork and took money as application fee from innocent candidates, promising them jobs as security guards, it said.

Self-styled “Captain” Sameer Singh, the mastermind of the racket, used a forged letter from the Ministry of Defence, indicating that INS Kunjali at Colaba was recruiting and working.

Following a tip-off, a team of Naval Police raided Singh’s residence in Ambernath on Tuesday and conducted a preliminary inquiry and confirmed suspicious activities.

He later approached the Shivajinagar police station and filed a formal police complaint demanding a full investigation, and the arrest of the impersonator for deceiving people.

According to official sources, he was alerted about the fraudulent job-for-money racket by a retired naval officer and in turn informed the Naval Police, which swung into action earlier this week.

Sources have also come to know that similar job rackets are being run by unscrupulous persons duping unemployed youths in the name of ‘Agniveer’ scheme.

Police said details of the accused’s antecedents, how many people he has cheated, amount collected and cheated, his possible associates and other angles are being probed.
