Traders said on Wednesday that the country’s top refiner Indian Oil Corp has procured a total of 7 million barrels of crude oil through tenders for May and June loading.

He said the refiner bought 4 million barrels of Murban crude and 3 million West African crude.

Sources said oil majors Total, Shell and BP sold Murban Cargo.

He said that for the West African grade, IOC purchased Angolan Hungo crude from ExxonMobil and Zafiro crude from Equatorial Guinea and Nigerian Usan crude from Totsa.

Companies generally do not comment on commercial deals.

The results came after the IOC on Tuesday excluded several high-sulfur crude grades, including the Russian Ural, from its tender.

In previous tenders, the IOC bought 6 million barrels of Russian Urals for loading and delivery in May.
