Indian-origin chef in UK’s new post-COVD restaurant recovery council

London, Sep 29 (PTI) More than 20 hospitality industry experts, one of Britain’s leading Indian-origin chefs, have been appointed to the new UK government’s council, which will help the country’s restaurants and cafes recover from COVID-19. designed to help.

The UK Government’s Hospitality Strategy is designed to support the sector’s reopening, recovery and resilience after the pandemic.

This includes making it easier for pubs, restaurants and cafes to offer al fresco or outdoor dining by making sidewalk licenses permanent, and expanding alcoholic beverages to England and Wales by September 2022 to further boost sales.

“I think the lockdown has shown us many things, especially the importance and key role our people and our teams have to play in lighting up our high streets and city centres,” said Karen, president of the Prezo chain of restaurants. Jones said.

“We now need to capitalize on our combined energy, creativity and innovation to continue building a world-class hospitality industry: the Hospitality Sector Council will help make this a reality,” she said.

The strategy also sets out ways to help the sector develop and fuel their creativity, including exploring options for vocational skills and training such as apprenticeships, bootcamps and other qualifications.
