Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has launched new ExtraGreen diesel fuel which promises to be cleaner and more fuel efficient. The oil marketing company has introduced XtraGreen at its 126 fuel stations across 63 cities in the country. The company will expand its availability in the coming months. IndianOil says that its new XtraGreen uses modified DMFA (Diesel Multi-Functional Additive) to reduce diesel emissions and improve the vehicle’s fuel efficiency.

Speaking about the launch, Shrikant Madhav Vaidya, President, IndianOil said, “ExtraGreen is in line with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s commitment to lead India towards a greener tomorrow, sustainable reduction in carbon emissions and a net-zero target. IndianOil says that ExtraGreen Diesel helps improve fuel savings by up to 5-6 per cent, while CO2 emissions can be as low as 130 g/L of diesel. The fuel reduces carbon monoxide emissions by 5.29 percent and NOx emissions by 4.99 percent. In addition, the XtraGreen diesel has increased the cetane number by five points, with improved lubricity, reduced engine noise and improved corrosion protection (NACE rating A).
