India’s daily Covid-19 cases report marginal increase, with 2,323 new cases reported today

According to the updated data of the Union Home Ministry, India on Saturday once again registered a marginal increase in the number of Kovid-19 cases with 2,323 new cases. Additionally, the active caseload in the country stood at 14,996 on Saturday, according to the Health Ministry data.

India’s Covid-19 tally rose to 4,31,34,145 on Saturday with 2,323 fresh infections, while the number of active cases declined to 14,996, according to data from the Union Health Ministry. According to the updated figures, the death toll rose to 5,24,348 with 25 deaths.

Active cases comprise 0.03% of total infections. The ministry said that the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.75%. There has been a decrease of 48 cases in the active Covid-19 caseload in a period of 24 hours.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.47% and the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 0.51%, the ministry said. The number of people cured of the disease increased to 4,25,94,801. The case fatality rate was 1.22%, it said.

Meanwhile, the union Ministry of Health has expressed concern about the very slow pace of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign in the States and Union Territories, and urged them to expedite the pace of full immunization coverage to all eligible beneficiaries.
