India’s export target: Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Monday assured all support to the exporting community and said it is possible to achieve the export target of $650 billion for both goods and services within the current financial year.
He informed that during the current month till January 15, exports have touched $ 16 billion. Presiding over a review meeting, Goyal said, “It is possible to achieve exports of USD 650 billion within the current financial year. Target of merchandise exports of USD 400 billion is in sight and exports of USD 250 billion to the services sector. should strive for.” All major Export Promotion Councils (EPCs)
He assured the EPC that his ministry will do “whatever it takes” to address their issues and resolve their issues in order to achieve even higher export targets in the next financial year (2022-23).
The Minister also assured the industry representatives to take forward their demands during various Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations.
“The government is ready to listen to new ideas, engage with the industry at every level and act as an enabler, facilitator and partner,” he added.
India’s total exports (goods and services) during April-December 2021 is estimated to be $479.07 billion, showing a positive growth of 36.31 per cent over the corresponding period last year.
