India’s great fast bowler Jhulan Goswami assumes new role in Bengal cricket

Jhulan Goswami is sure to have a dual role in the Bengal women’s cricket team. Apart from being a player in the senior team, the legendary Indian pacer will also serve as a mentor to Bengal’s women’s teams of all age groups.

On this day, the support staff of other age-based teams were also announced by the Cricket Association of Bengal. The CAB wants to utilize the experience and skills of former Bengal cricketers. The CAB has already appointed Lakshmi Ratan Shukla as the head coach of the Bengal men’s team and WV Raman as the batting coach. Now CAB has appointed Indian woman cricketer Jhulan Goswami as mentor of Bengal women’s cricket team.

After the Women’s World Cup, it was being speculated that Jhulan Goswami might quit cricket for now as Mithali Raj does the same, but Jhulan did not retire. Now she will be in a new role for Bengal Cricket.

Jhulan Goswami will be the overall mentor-cum-player for the Bengal women’s team. The CAB held a meeting with Jhulan on Thursday. Announcing this here today, CAB President Avishek Dalmiya said: “Jhulan Goswami will play the role of mentor-cum-player for Bengal women’s team across all age groups. We are happy to announce this.
