Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday called upon the youth to start thinking innovatively and take up challenges to excel in their respective professions and at the same time contribute in taking ‘New India’ to new heights.

He was inaugurating the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of BV Bhoomraddi College of Engineering and Technology after inaugurating the new sports complex built at a cost of Rs 26 crore in the college campus at Hubballi on January 28.

Established in Gadag in 1946 and shifted to Hubli in 1947, BV Bommaraddy College was the second engineering college to be established in Bombay province after Pune.

Speaking about the change brought about by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who laid the foundation of a ‘Greater India’, the Union Minister called upon the youth to remember the sacrifices of the freedom fighters, due to which they lived in independent India. Were staying ,

Shri Shah said that he had come to Hubballi to meet the youth and listed various initiatives taken by PM Modi for the youth of the country, including Make in India, Digital India, Fit India, Khelo India, Mudra Yojana and many more Are included.

Elaborating on the growth of start-ups in India, Mr Shah said that from only 2,000 in 2014, the number of start-ups in the country was set to reach 70,000 in 2023. 30% of them were founded by youth. woman. Referring to the campus of Forensic Science University being set up at Dharwad, Shri Shah said that since forensic evidence is essential in crime detection, the country would need at least 50,000 forensic scientists. Earlier, Shri Shah paid tributes to the ‘Saptarshis’ (seven founders) of the KLE Society for ‘starting the movement of social change through education’. Elaborating on the achievements of KLE Society, he expressed hope that “as promised to PM Modi”, KLE Society will soon produce ‘Olympians’ from its campus.
