The job was apparently posted this week by Virginia-based Arthur Grand Technologies for a business analyst in its sales force and insurance claims team in Texas.

A US-based company has reportedly found itself in trouble after posting a job advertisement asking only “white” candidates to apply.

“Only US citizens (white) born who are local within 60 miles of Dallas, TX [Don’t share with candidates]”, reads the job vacancy.

Virginia-based Arthur Grand Technologies this week posted a job for a business analyst on its Salesforce and insurance claims team in Dallas, Texas, reports The Independent.

The news about the job application went viral on Twitter and Reddit after a user on the microblogging website called out the company for its discriminatory practices.

“Hi @WarrenBuffett! It appears that one of Berkshire Hathaway’s vendors… Arthur Grand Technologies Inc… has some problem with its hiring processes. Discrimination on the basis of race and national origin is bad,” tweeted TK Finch. In addition to appearance, it reduces the competitiveness of the company.

Other users also slammed and criticized the company for discriminating against applicants on the basis of color or ethnicity. One of the users on Twitter pointed out that Arthur Grand is a contractor for all three levels of government – federal, state and local.

“And Arthur Grand is a government contractor – federal, state and local. Doesn’t that add a whole extra layer of nondiscrimination obligations?” Stanley Holt tweeted.

Another user wrote, “Bravo “Junior” staff member is to be blamed for this. He clearly blew the whistle on this company by posting the job as written.”

The company later posted an update saying that the job posting was “neither authorized nor posted by Arthur Grand or its employees”. “A former employee took an existing posting and added discriminatory language, then reposted it through his own account,” the company said.

It also said that “necessary legal action” was initiated against the “job poster”.
