IOCL: IOCL laid gas pipeline for 75 km in the district. Coimbatore News – Times of India

Coimbatore: Indian Oil Corporation Limited ,IOCL), which is implementing the city’s gas distribution network, has laid 75 km of underground natural gas pipelines in the district.
IOCL has secured the license of City Gas Distribution Network in the district in the ninth round of bidding. Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board Held in August 2018.
Under the project, IOCL will lay underground gas pipelines for 212 km, develop 273 CNG stations and provide 9,12,783 domestic piped natural gas connections.
h SureshThe manager of the district chapter of IOCL said they were working on laying underground gas pipelines at Avinashi Road and Trichy Road, where flyover work was underway. “We hope to supply piped natural gas to households on the Kurichi-Malumichampatti section by the end of this year.”
Recently, IOCL inaugurated City Gate Station cum Mother Station for Compressed Natural Gas at Pichanur. It is equipped with a pressure reduction-cum-regulating skid with a capacity of 13,000 standard cubic meters per hour. After its inauguration, IOCL reduced the price of compressed natural gas in the district by Rs.
According to Suresh, he plans to expand the CNG network to 41 stations in the district by the end of the current financial year.
Referring to the customers converting their vehicles to CNG, he said that this should be done through a RTO Approved Retro Fitment Center. “Later on, they will have to update their insurance and endorse their registration certificate to CNG.”
