IPL 2022: Delhi Capitals coach Ponting hopes Nortje, Warner will boost Lucknow’s game. Cricket News – Times of India

New Delhi: South African fast bowler Enrique Nortje and Australian openers David Warner will be available for Delhi Capitalsnext match in Indian Premier League ,IPL), coach Ricky Ponting Said this after the team’s defeat to Gujarat Titans on Saturday.
Nortje has not played since last year’s Twenty20 World Cup after being sidelined due to back and hip injuries.
Ponting said the 28-year-old has resumed bowling in the nets and will play the match against his IPL debutante on Thursday Lucknow Super Giants in Mumbai.
“I think he has to go through another maybe four or five overs at 100 per cent capacity and then I think if he gets cleared Cricket South Africa, he should have the right to go,” Ponting said.
“We’ve got a few days before our next game, so hopefully he’s available for selection for that one.”

Former Australia captain Ponting was also waiting for compatriots Warner and Mitchell Marsh to arrive.
Warner has arrived in Mumbai after resting for the limited overs leg of Australia’s tour of Pakistan, while Marsh is recovering from a hip strain.
“Davy should be there for the next game and Mitch Marsh for the later match,” Ponting said.
“He (Marsh) picked up that mild strain of the hip flexor in Pakistan. So we need to treat him and of course some good training sessions before he is available for selection,” he added.
Delhi are currently at the fourth position in the IPL points table after one win and one loss.
