Sanju Samson tries to pull off Hardik’s second delivery, but takes a simple catch for Sai Kishore at short third man. Samson ended the campaign with 456 runs in 17 matches at an average of 30.40. It was a similar season for the Royals captain, but in a year when his team made it to the finals, he would be disappointed after doing nothing more.

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya has enjoyed his best performance with the bat in the IPL season and has also made significant strikes with the ball whenever he has brought himself into the attack.

Yash Dayal dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal in the fourth over, and after some controlled bowling from Mohammed Shami, Lockie Ferguson and Rashid Khan, Hardik Pandya delivered a brilliant first over, conceding only 1 run and taking the wicket of Sanju Samson.

Hardik Pandya, who won four IPL titles with Mumbai Indians, was signed by Gujarat Titans ahead of this year’s auction. In a dream season for newcomers, Hardik has been exemplary with his performance and leadership.
