Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant said explosive opener Prithvi Shaw was 50-50 and the team will get more details in a few days. On Monday, as DC beat Punjab Kings by 5 wickets to enter the top-four of the IPL 2022 points table, Pant indicated that Shaw could still make a comeback in the playing XI.

Prithvi Shaw was recently discharged from the hospital after being treated for typhoid. In his absence, DC tried Srikar India with David Warner as an opener, but that move proved unsuccessful.

On Monday, DC brought Sarfaraz Khan back for the opening and he smashed a 16-ball 32 after David Warner was dismissed for a golden duck.

Rishabh Pant told Star Sports, “I think he is 50/50. We will know in a few days.”

This is the first time in the season that Delhi Capitals have won back-to-back matches.

Thanks to the heroics of Mitchell Marsh (63), Shardul Thakur (4/36), Axar Patel (2/14) and Kuldeep Yadav (2/14), Delhi Capitals secured two more points and 14 displaced Royal Challengers increased the number. Bengaluru is the fourth-ranked team in the points table.

Rishabh Pant said that he wants his team to end the cycle of winning one match and then losing the next and is glad that they were able to achieve it.

“We have been losing one game and winning one game while playing throughout the tournament. That is something that we wanted to change as a team and we got it,” he said.

Delhi Capitals will play their last match of the league stage against Mumbai Indians on Saturday. Five-time champions Mumbai Indians were the first team to be knocked out of the race for the playoffs but have won three of their last five matches and could be a party spoiler. MI beat defending champions Chennai Super Kings with a 5-wicket win on Thursday.
