Chennai Super Kings could miss pacer Deepak Chahar in their next few IPL matches as his left hamstring injury has flared up once again.

Chahar was ruled out for the better part of 2022 due to a hamstring injury and it was disappointing to see him limping after bowling an over against Mumbai Indians in Mumbai on April 8, 2023.

CSK legend Suresh Raina, who has been doing commentary for ‘Jio Cinema’, said: “It looks like Deepak will be out for 4-5 matches. It looks like he has again suffered a hamstring injury and They are looking uncomfortable. All other IPL venues are far away.” There will be a lot of travel involved to and from Chennai.” Captain MS Dhoni said in the post-match presentation that the win was satisfactory as his team had lost Chahar’s serve in the very first over itself.

“Feeling good. Don’t forget we lost Deepak in the first over. He’s our new bowler and Magala is playing his first game. Good thing the spinners bowled well. It’s a bit of a two-pace. And after seven overs, it started to turn. Dhoni gave his assessment.

“The spinners and the fast bowlers came back well. Magala was good and so was Pretorius.” Dhoni praised young Tushar Deshpande fiercely.

“We believe in him, and when you are fresh you are under pressure but playing in the IPL for a few years brings different pressure. He had a great domestic season, he is improving. Has potential but he can improve.” By not throwing those no-balls, being more consistent.”

Told Jinx I’d support her

Ajinkya Rahane did not start in the first two matches but had food poisoning Moeen Ali gave him an opportunity and he grabbed it brilliantly by scoring 61 off 27 balls.

“Me and Jinx (Rahane’s nickname in the cricket fraternity) spoke at the start of the season and I told him to play to his strengths, use his ability to manipulate the field.

“I told him go and enjoy, don’t stress and we will back you. He batted well and he was not happy with the way he got out, says it all. I think every game is important, you Look, focus on the problems in front of you and take it one step at a time, don’t look at the league table for now.”

I wanted to maintain my shape, says Rahane

Rahane, on his part, said that despite not getting a chance in the first two matches, he was always mentally prepared.

“I’ve had a good domestic season. I just try to maintain my shape. Timing is the focus. It’s all about making you feel like you’re playing a match. IPL is a long tournament and you You never know when you get your chance.” I always enjoy playing at Wankhede.

“The important thing about Mahi bhai and Fleming is that they give freedom to everyone. Mahi bhai told me to prepare well.”
