Delhi Capitals did everything to give Punjab Kings a freeway in the IPL 2023 competition to chase down 214 in Dharamsala. He dropped catches, missed run outs, conceded a lot of runs in slog overs but despite his best efforts the PBKS failed.

Atharva Tayde was dropped at 35. He scored 55 runs before retiring.

Liam Livingstone is dropped for 3. He scored 94 off 48 balls and nearly took PBKS over the line, but with little or no support from the other batsmen, his efforts went in vain and the home side ended on 198/8.

Both the catches were dropped by Kuldeep Yadav and both were fairly straight chances.

DC though will be happy with a consolation win. Their batsmen set up the match by performing brilliantly. Captain David Warner played a solid knock of 46 while Prithvi Shaw hit his first half-century of the season.

Rilee Rossouw, however, played a blistering knock of 82 not out off 37 balls, which powered DC to their first 200-plus score of the season.

The Shikhar Dhawan-led side is steady at the eighth position.

However, DC has pulled itself out from the bottom of the heap. They have now won five matches taking their points tally to 10, two better than Sunrisers Hyderabad who are now 10th in the list.
