Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 was another low-scoring affair that ended in a thriller. Delhi Capitals (DC) were badly troubled by the Gujarat bowlers, being bundled out for 130 for 8 in 20 overs. Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4 for 11 in four overs. Also, Mohit Sharma scalped a pair while completing 50 IPL wickets.
But it was the same story with the Gujarat batsmen when they faced the Delhi attack. Khaleel made a brilliant comeback by dismissing Wriddhiman Saha in the very first over. Then Ishant Sharma hit a boundary and opened the doors for the opposition. GT skipper Hardik Pandya scored an unbeaten 59 but his effort went in vain.

However, this match did not make any difference to the position of these two teams in the points table. Delhi Capitals remain at the bottom with six points and a negative net run rate. On the other hand, Gujarat Titans retained their top position in the table with 12 points and a net run rate of +0.532.

David Warner had a chance to climb up the Orange Cap list but was dismissed cheaply once again. RCB captain Faf du Plessis scored 44 off 40 balls with the help of a four and a six on Monday, taking his tally to 466 runs. The South African batsman is on top while Yashasvi is second with 428 runs. At the same time, Devon Conway (414) of CSK, RCB Virat Kohli (45.50), and CSK’s Ruturaj Gaikwad (354) are third, fourth and fifth respectively.

While CSK pacer Tushar Deshpande continues to be the highest wicket-taker in the league, RCB pacer Mohammad Siraj moved up to the second spot after taking a wicket against LSG on Monday night. The Hyderabad pacer dismissed Lucknow opener Kyle Mayers to reach the feat. While Siraj has 15 wickets in his pocket, Punjab Kings’ Arshdeep Singh (15), Gujarat Titans’ Rashid Khan (14) and Rajasthan Royals’ Ravichandran Ashwin (13) round out the top five.
