IPL 2023: Virat Kohli refuses to shake hands with Sourav Ganguly after RCB vs DC game, Ricky Ponting intervenes – see

Royal Challengers Bangalore, led by Faf du Plessis, registered a 23-run win over David Warner-led Delhi Capitals at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, inflicting the Capitals’ fifth consecutive defeat. However, there was a controversial moment after the match that caused a stir on the internet. When both the teams were shaking hands, Virat Kohli and Sourav Ganguly passed by each other without shaking hands.

It has been reported that there has been tension between Kohli and Ganguly during the latter’s tenure as BCCI President. Kohli had also resigned from the captaincy of the Indian cricket team during that period, and rumors spread that he took the decision under pressure from the BCCI, which was headed by the former India captain at the time.

The video went viral on Twitter and fans are curious about the relationship between the two legends of the game –

Meanwhile, RCB won their second match of the ongoing season against Delhi Capitals (DC), who lost their fifth game in a row. DC failed to chase down RCB’s total of 174/6, ending at 151/9 in 20 overs. Manish Pandey fought hard, scoring 50 runs in 38 balls, but he could not take his team beyond the limit. DC’s bowlers made a brilliant comeback to restrict RCB to 174/6 in 20 overs, with Virat Kohli top-scoring for RCB with a 34-ball 50. None of the other RCB batsmen could contribute significantly and they kept losing wickets at crucial junctures against a disciplined Delhi bowling attack.

Chasing a challenging total, DC got off to a terrible start as they lost three wickets for just 26 runs. However, Manish Pandey played a brilliant knock and kept DC’s hopes alive in the run chase along with Axar Patel (21 off 14). Once Akshar and Pandey were dismissed in quick succession in the 13th and 14th overs, DC had an uphill task. Anrich Nortje (23 not out off 14) and Aman Khan (18 off 10) tried their best but it was not enough.

Earlier, RCB openers Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis gave the team a good start by adding 42 runs for the first wicket. With the main bowlers not making much of an impact, DC introduced Mitchell Marsh into the attack, who took the wicket of Faf du Plessis. Despite Glenn Maxwell scoring 24 off 14, DC’s spinners brought him back into the game. Shahbaz Ahmed’s crucial 11-ball 20 powered RCB to a defendable total of 174/6 in 20 overs. Vijaykumar Vaishak and Mohammad Siraj were the top wicket-takers for RCB with three and two wickets respectively.
