Opting to bat, du Plessis (55 off 44 balls) and Maxwell (54 off 33 balls) continued their form on a slow pitch but the Royals put up a disciplined bowling effort to restrict RCB to a competitive total.
Anuj Rawat scored an unbeaten 29 off just 11 balls and added 51 runs in the last five overs to take RCB past the 170-mark.
Australian left arm spinner adam zampa (4-0-25-2) and fast bowler KM Asif (4-0-42-2) was the most successful bowler of Royals while Sandeep Sharma Got a wicket.
